Course Objectives

First Aid Level 1 topics
The First Aid Level 1 course covers the following topics:
- Basic First Aid Principles: Definition of first aid and its role in emergencies, legal considerations, and consent, personal safety, and scene assessment.
- Primary Survey: DRABC procedure (Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation), performing CPR on adults, children, and infants, using an AED safely and efficiently.
- Secondary Survey: Checking vital signs (pulse, breathing rate, etc.), gathering patient history, and identifying underlying conditions.
- Managing Common Emergencies: Choking relief techniques, handling wounds, cuts, and bleeding, treating fractures, sprains, and dislocations, responding to burns, scalds, and allergic reactions.
- Special Situations: Heatstroke and hypothermia management, poisoning and drug overdose response, basic care for seizures and fainting episodes.
- Post-Incident Procedures: Documenting incidents and reporting to authorities, emotional support for victims and responders.

- Duration: 8 hours (one full day or two half-days).
- Format: Theory sessions with interactive presentations, practical demonstrations and hands-on practice, real-life scenario simulations.
